How will I be compensated?

Your compensation will be based on a rate per square foot, or acreage, of the property of the project you will be working as specified in the contract. This means that your payment is determined by the area of land you work on or the size of the project you undertake.

Will I receive a W-2 or a 1099?

Since you will be a contract worker with RCG Valuation, you will receive a 1099 form.

What license or certification do I need?

RCGV requires their property scanners to obtain an FAA 107 drone pilot license. You can obtain this license through an online course without any onsite or classroom work. It takes an estimated 20 hours of studying, and then completion of on an in-person test.

Do I have to pay for my certification exam?

RCG Valuation & Monetization will reimburse you for the certification course up to $199. If RCG covers the cost of your course, we hope that you will be open to working with us for at least one year.

How often will I fly for RCGV?

As often as you are able & willing; you will receive a text as projects become available in your area. You can choose to sign up for a project based on your availability.

How much notice do I need to cancel?

Both RCGV and the client need a minimum of 48 hour notice. Once assigned a project, you will be connected with the client via group chat to coordinate scanning the property. You can cancel within that thread and determine next steps.

What equipment do I need to provide?

If you have a DJI PRO drone and a Matterport camera with a tripod, you are all set. If not, RCGV will ship all required gear to you.

What drones and equipment are compatible with the software you use?

RCGV utilizes Pix4D’s software and apps to scan client properties; please review this list to ensure your drones and cameras are compatible. If they aren’t, RCGV can provide equipment for projects as needed.

How should I prep my equipment before projects?

We recommend these apps that are compatible with Pix4D for flight planning for your drones prior to scanning a property: DJI Ground Station Pro, DJI Pilot, UGCS

I’m new to Matterport Cameras, how can I learn to use them to provide the highest quality scans?

Matterport Academy is a great and free resource that provides step-by-step instructional videos designed to educate and teach you how to capture, edit, and share like a pro.

How will I deliver the data to RCGV?

A ClickUp login will be provided to you so you can easily upload your property scan data. RCGV requires that upload is completed within 24 hours of the scan.

Will RCGV replace my drone in the event of damage during a project?

If it’s a personal drone, RCGV is not liable for repairs. If you are using RCGV equipment, you can send it back and we will handle repairs. To return equipment, please reach out to Scott Roelofs at scott.roelofs@rcgvaluation.com for a shipping label.

Do I need to obtain LAANC approval before all flights?

Depending on the project; you will need to check the airspace and explore restrictions in your project area to determine if you need LAANC authorization.

What support equipment do I need? 

When traveling to a project site, in addition to the drone and Matterport camera, you will want a tripod, and fully charged, back-up batteries.
